The defenders are constructed from solid materials and are tubeless. They are normally fabricated from CNC laser cut precision brake formed 3/16 inch plate. The DeFender lips along the lower side of the fender so that it can provide better protection from the gully stuffed tire being cut but at the same time it offers extra strength to the fenders outer edge. The outer edge is more likely to come into contact with rocks, walls or trees. The outer edges are normally formed into a three sided rub rail that is rugged. The whole structure from the top plates to the structure for mounting is 3/16 inches thick. The fender is stronger and looks better when compared with the other tube fenders. To blend better with the jeeps exterior, they have a surface that is flat and smooth. The wheel opening at the back where the wheel rubs with the steering is 4 inches further back.
