As the yearly tradition goes, Jeep has shown off various concept vehicles at Easter Jeep Safari in the heart of the Moab Desert. These concept vehicles let Jeep designers run wild with their imagination and create some of the most unique and down right badass Jeeps out there. While these Jeep concept vehicles aren't always meant to represent vehicles customers can buy off the showroom floor, they often include components and styling queues that are used in future factory produced Jeeps.
The "Convoy" Concept Gladiator features a new front grille styled after the classic J-Series Gladiators. Many may assume this is simply Jeep designers having fun with their concept vehicle and simply harkening back to the classic truck. However, there are several pointers to Jeep redesigning the Gladiator, and I believe the Convoy concept truck is most likely what we'll be seeing for the redesign.
A Look At Past Concept Vehicles
The Jeep Concept vehicles are often simply whacky and cool creations such as a Jeep Renegade Truck, or a modern FC built on the frame of a Jeep JK. However, some of these concepts contain components such as fenders, bumpers, grilles, etc. that go on to be used in future production vehicles. The example that comes to mind was in 2017's Easter Jeep Safari.
Two Jeep Wranglers on display featured front grilles that differed from the then-current Jeep JK grille. Although it wasn’t known at the time, these concept Wranglers were the first Jeeps to showcase the new Jeep JL front grille—months before the world would see the new JL in its official unveiling in November 2017. This just shows that Jeep often uses styling and designs in their Easter Jeep concept vehicles that go on to be used in production vehicles.

Both of these 2017 Concept Wranglers featured the JL style front grille months before the JL was revealed
Additionally, Jeep has toyed with the classic styled Gladiator/J-Series front grilles on their Easter Jeep Safari concept vehicles over the years. In Easter Jeep Safari 2015 Jeep showed off a beautiful four door Jeep JK highly customized to look like a '74 Cherokee Chief. The front grille on this concept vehicle is based off of the 1974 Cherokee, which shares the same style as the 1974 J10 truck. In 2012 Jeep showed off their Red J-12 concept truck, built off of the JK platform. This is just another example of Jeep using the classic Gladiator/J-series truck grilles. Jeep has used the classic Gladiator/Cherokee front end in several other concept vehicles over the years, showing us that modern day Jeep designers are no strangers to this design!

Jeeps Gladiator Survey Email
In March of 2025 Jeep sent out a survey email at random to Jeep owners (most people didn't get an email, unfortunately) asking various questions about the styling and engine options of the Jeep Gladiator. Interestingly enough, the questions were for the "next generation Gladiator". This is pretty definitive proof that Jeep is considering redesigning the Gladiator in the near future. It also shows us that Jeep is considering radically redesigning the front end of the Gladiator to look more like the old school J-series trucks.

These are just two of the questions from the Jeep survey email
2025 Jeep Gladiator "Convoy" Concept
So where am I going with all this? Well, I believe the Convoy concept Jeep Gladiator shown off at the 2025 Easter Jeep Safari is very likely what the next generation Jeep Gladiator will look like. There may be some tweaks to the overall design as parts of this Gladiator look unfinished such as the fender flares and inner fenders, but I think for the most part the next gen Gladiator will be very similar to this concept. In my opinion, I think this could be a great direction to take the next gen Gladiator's design and help differentiate its style from the Wrangler. However, I hope Jeep keeps as many cross-compatible parts as possible with the Wrangler to make modifying it and finding replacement parts easier.

So what do you think about the Convoy concept Gladiator? Would you be happy if this is what the next generation Gladiator looks like? Would you prefer it keeps its current design? Post a comment below!
