Best little radio I've ever owned, so much so that we have one in each of our vehicles! Easy to mount out of sight to mitigate loss through theft. Good performance without any modifications. Provides WX info and preset channel selections as well. Although the radio provides an output for an internal aux speaker, the ability to also have an additional output for a selectable external speaker would be phenomenal. That said, it's still a good radio for the trail and highway use. Northridge 4X4 provided fast shipping and very, very competitive pricing as well. Oh and BTW they provide a Kick-A$$ decal that I display proudly on my Jeep! Be safe, stay alert. Best. Shorty sends...

This was recommended to me by a fello Jeeper, and I am very pleased with this purchase. The radio is small and compact so you can easily hide the whole unit under your seat. I was able to mount the unit under my seat and tuck the handheld beside my parking brake. The weather channels come in super useful when you are on the road and drive into storms. The handheld has a external speaker but you have the option to attach an external speaker to the main control unit via aux cord, just make sure the jack coming from the external speaker is long enough. I have my speaker mounted by the dome light. Overall if your looking for simplicity, this radio will fit the bill!

It's compact and out of the way. The unit has a speaker within the handheld but you have the choice to hook up an external speaker via aux cable. The weather channels come in super useful! I could drive down the interstate and hear about weather updates from the national weather service. I would totally recommend this product, be aware that this unit does NOT come with antenna cable or antenna.
